  • Calentamiento
    • ¡Saquen ustedes sus CUADERNOS, un lápiz y SAMs!
    • Please take out your pencils, SAMs, notebooks, (and proof you studied)!
    • Then, please LABEL the parts of the body, using the key on the front!
  • Notes on TENER
    • Just like we took notes on the verb ser, "to be", and how it changes (or its "conjugations") we took notes on tener today!
      • To talk about the number/kind of eyes/hair/etc. someone has, we use the verb TENER.
      • Tener means “to have” -- you need to change, or conjugate, the verb tener in order for it to mean “I have” or “He/She has”.
        • This is an important verb to know for our Mini-Book project!

    • We're going to do PART B today!!
    • Use the list of descriptions for HAIR and EYE COLORs to write about yourself and describe others!!

    • We did the back of the Calentamiento sheet, describing ourselves and Ms. Williams

          • RED HAIR:  Yo SOY pelirroja/o. 
      • 2. ¿Qué colores de ojos tienes tú?  → What color EYES do you have?

          • MS. WILLIAMS's example:  Yo tengo ojos azules.
          • OR Yo tengo ojos azul claro.
      • 3. ¿Qué tipo de pelo tiene Señorita Williams?

      • 4. ¿Qué colores de ojos tiene Señorita Williams?

  • WRITE YOUR SENTENCES!!
    • For each of your 4 people (and yourself), answer the questions:
      • 1. ¿Qué color de OJOS tiene?

      • 3. ¿Es alto o bajo?
    • Please DESCRIBE the people who are important to you!
      • Don’t forget to include a description of each person’s:
      • eyes - hair - HEIGHT!!
    • To say:   He is tall. → Él es alto. He is short. → Él es bajo.
      • She is tall.  → Ella es alta. She is short.  → Ella es baja.
      • They are tall. → Ellos son altos.   They are short. → Ellos son bajos.
      • sort of tall → bastante alto  medium height → de media altura
    • EXAMPLE: Mi papá
      • 1. Mi papá tiene ojos azul claro, como los míos. → My dad has light blue eyes, like mine. 2. Él tiene pelo canoso. → He has gray hair. 3. Mi papá es muy alto. → He is very tall.

    • Notebook and NEW VOCAB SHEETS out! SAM out!
    • Go to the warm-up page, and write the title “Calentamiento.” Use the vocab to write down the ?s and answers: 
    • ¿Cómo eres tú? → What are you like?
      • Yo soy simpática. → I am nice.
    • Yo soy inteligente. → I am smart.
      • Yo soy graciosa. → I am funny.
    • ¿Cómo no eres tú? → What are you NOT like?
      • Yo NO soy seria. → I am NOT serious.
  • Notes on Adjectives:
    • Adjectives with “o” endings:
    • (keep it as an “o” when you’re talking about a male)
    • change to “a” when you’re talking about a female
    • add an “s” when you’re talking about more than 1 person
    • Adjectives with “e” OR “a”
    • DON’T CHANGE when you’re talking about a female
    • add an “s” when you’re talking about more than 1 person
    • Remember: ALL ADJECTIVES ADD “s” when you’re talking about MORE THAN ONE person.

    • Rock paper scissors!
      • Person who WINS goes first; "¿Cómo eres tú?"
    • Then, play again!
      • Person who LOSES this time goes first; "¿Cómo NO eres tú?"
  • INTRODUCTION:   IMPORTANT PEOPLE PROJECT
    • Draw or FIND a picture of YOURSELF, and EACH PERSON which represents what you wrote about yourself/him/her/them.    
    • In complete sentences, describe yourself and at least FOUR other people!    You must include the following:
    • 3 physical characteristics→ What does this person LOOK LIKE?:
    • size/stature                           –eyes –hair 
    • 3 personality traits  → :   What is this person like/What does he/she ACT like?  
    • character  (What is this person LIKE?) .
    • 3 clothing/color items - What does this person like to WEAR?
    • To wear = LLEVAR.   Ella lleva unos jeans azules y una camisa roja.
    • 3 likes and DISLIKES - What does this person like to DO?
    • I like to = me gusta ___   He/She likes to = A él/ella le gusta ___
  • Write about EACH of your FOUR PEOPLE!
    • Make sure you write in a COMPLETE SENTENCE!!
    • ¿Cómo es _______? → What IS ___choose a person___like?
    • EXAMPLE: 
      • 1. Mi amiga Margie es graciosa.→My friend Margie is funny.
      • 2. Ella es muy inteligente.   → She is very smart.  
      • 3. Ella es bastante seria. → She is RELATIVELY/more or less serious.     OR
    • YOU CAN ALSO ASK: ¿Cómo no es él/ella? → What is he/she NOT like?
      • 3. Margie NO es desordenada.→ Margie is NOT disorganized.
  • BEFORE YOU LEAVE CHECKLIST:
    • Check yo’ self!!   Periods, accents, tildes (~) and CAPS!
    • Make sure you add an -s on the end of any  description that is plural. Ejemplo: pantalones rojos
    • Make sure you change any adjective that ends with -o to an -a  to match female/girl things!  
    • Ejemplo: Mi amiga es graciosa
    • Did you include FOR EACH PERSON: (3) FULL SENTENCES describing their personality characteristics?
    • Finish your VOCABULARY!!
LA TAREA (written in your SAM) --   SAM: Choose the FOUR people, aside from yourself, that you want to describe, and FINISH BRAINSTORMING 4 ADJECTIVES you can use to describe your/their personality traits!!
